FUND RAISERS:

  • Pancake Breakfast, May 5th – Del Lawson handed out tickets and posters.  Charlie is willing to send out books of tickets to referrals from Club members – please send him your contacts.
  • Del is unable to attend the Breakfast on May 5th and is requesting a co-chair to help out.  He will do 90% of the prep work – but needs someone (two) members to step up and assist with the actual Day.  Please contact him directly if you can help.  Sign Up sheet and will ask Al to set up on web page

Community Activities:

  • A Litter Bit Better sign up for West River Parkway Cleanup the week of April 21-28 – Club, by show of hands indicated that we want to participate again this year.  Doug will need to register our club for the West River Parkway.
    • 2012 Registration We hope to welcome you back as an A Litter Bit Better! volunteer in 2012 for the 6th annual event, to be held April 21st thru April 28th.   If you registered last year and you want to adopt the same area, you can contact me via email (replying back to this message) or by phone at 328-2431 (please indicate your group name, estimated number of volunteers, and contact information).  Registration is now open. Go to http://www.rneighbors.org/?p=1861 and click on one of the five maps to find an adoptable area.  (These maps will be updated once a week.)  Once you are registered, I will send you a confirmation email and instructions to insure successful participation.  If you want to adopt an area which is not listed on the map, please email your proposed location with a description or feel free to call and discuss further.    Mike Kraszewski, [mkraszewski@rochestermn.gov]
    • Chairperson needed to organize the event, usually takes about an hour for cleanup; two hours for Happy Hour at Glynners!
  • Kiwanis One Day – April 14 – Stewartville Kiwanis Food for Kidz – Emily noted that Rochester Kiwanis blocks a time to volunteer as a Club.  She will let the Stewartville Kiwanis organizers know what time would work best for the Club members.  Please be prepared at next week’s meeting to indicate your availability.  Sign Up sheet will be passed around and will ask Al to set up on web page. They also need to have our donation.  Since everyone who wants to, serves on the Board – this motion and approval could be made next week.
